Reconciling in Christ Plaque Presentation Litany
P: Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, in his letter to the church in Philippi, the apostle Paul reminds all of us just Who it is that we follow. As we prepare to receive the plaque recognizing Beautiful Savior’s commitment to be a Reconciling in Christ congregation, let us join our hearts and voices in prayer:
P: Good and gracious God, you have created each and every one of us in your image--in the image of your boundless, never-failing love—and you call each of us to reflect that same love in our lives for the sake of this world you so deeply love.
P: In this world where many things divide your people,
C: help us to be of same mind and to have the same love as Christ.
P: In this world where so many look to their own interests,
C: Let us look to the interests of others.
P: In this world where too many act harshly and heartlessly,
C: teach us to make your church a haven for all who’ve been hurt.
P: As Christ poured himself out to reconcile us with you and with our neighbor,
C: so let us pour ourselves out, so that others may be reconciled to you and to each other.
P: May the plaque we are about to receive serve as a reminder or your reconciling love for us and for the whole world. May we be filled with courage and compassion to confront the challenges of each day, and grant us faith and fortitude to continue in the way of Christ—the way of reconciling love—all our days.
